"As the Medical Director and Psychiatrist of our community, I have long envisioned the creation of a new mental health center that would serve as a home away from home for our patients. I believe that we can create a space that is both cozy and welcoming, providing a family-like atmosphere that promotes healing and recovery. This new center would benefit not only our patients, but also our entire society, by providing much-needed resources and support for those struggling with mental health challenges. With the right team and the right vision, I am confident that we can bring this dream to life and make a real difference in the lives of our patients and our community as a whole."

Leadership

Our community mental health program is led by Dr. Gessesse, an expert in adult psychiatry. Dr. Gessesse brings a passion for helping troubled adults and an unparalleled commitment to every individual who seeks our services. At HORIZON CMHC, he oversees all treatment plans and directs our team of professionals with dedication and enthusiasm.

Education

Dr. Gessesse obtained his medical degree at UCLA and completed his residency at the University of Southern California (USC). He has specialized in the treatment of mood disorders, addiction, anxiety, and trauma, gaining extensive experience at LA County Hospital and other mental health institutions. With this in-depth medical training, Dr. Gessesse is a leading expert in his field.
